Monster Hunter World: Guiding Lands
Mr. Melledork
The Guiding Lands is a new addition to the New World, but it can be somewhat confusing when you’re new to it. This place has many treasures, so let’s delve a bit into it and make it understandable.
The End Game
While the base game’s end game was investigations and later on AT monsters. This DLC adds a new way to handle the late game, The Guiding Lands. It’s pretty straight forward when it comes to the concept; it’s an expedition with refreshing monsters, new loot, and materials to gather. Seeing as dying impedes your rewards, try to keep the carting to a minimum.
The loop
Go into Guiding Lands, gather materials, investigate, murder, and talk to the handler to deliver research then. Monsters will keep on coming, and your area levels will keep going up.
You can also lure out specific monsters if you need their materials. But be sure you do the “Analysis” that show up in the top right corner, this is what unlocks the different lures.
The Levels
Hunting, investigating, and gathering materials in the different areas will level them up for you. So just playing normally will do this for you. The higher the level the area is, the more robust the monsters are.
NOTE: It is the research points that level up the area
There are a couple of things you can do when in the Guiding Lands.
- Fight monsters
- Gather “Sign of Turf War” which will give you analysis.
- Bone piles and mining outcrops. These will give you materials based on the area and the level.
Analysis
These will unlock the ability to lure out a monster. So if you need to hunt a specific monster, having a lure for them will be helpful.
Tips
- Keep trapping the monster over and over again. You get 25 points for each trap.
- Break all the monster parts. Will net you a lot of research points.
- Capture monster instead of killing it, will make each fight faster.
- Gather tracks.
